Mr. Johnny Lee McDowell was born December 23, 1941 in Sour Lake, Tx out of the union of the late Wilbur McDowell and Mary Louise Victoria (Mose J. Johnson Jr. "MJ") step father Johnny graduated from Blackshear school in 1960 in Sour Lake, TX. After Johnny graduated, he moved to Houston, Tx and a few years later he moved to Detroit that's when he decided to join the U.S. Army in 1966 After serving his country that's when Johnny continued his journey of traveling. The road took Johnny from Houston, Detroit, Virginia, Missouri, Utah and finally resting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Johnny was always a faithful member of church. He was a liaison for the VA and he traveled all over helping new VA members. He also volunteered his time with the Blinded Veterans Associations (BVA). For 77 years Johnny shared his life with his late parents and step father... His memory will remain forever in the hearts and minds of his children, daughters Cynthia Odoms (Kevin) of Houston, Mary McDowell of Houston, Torya Richardson of Detroit, son, Victor White (Yolanda) of Detroit. He leaves Grandchildren, Conisha McDowell of Houston, Darrius McDowell of Houston, Cocounista McDowell of Houston, Jessica McDowell of Houston, Fredrick McDowell of Houston, Michael Whitt Jr. of Houston, and Victor White (lil Vic) of Detroit and a host of great-grandchildren... He leaves 2 sisters Marietta McDowell who proceeded him in death, Gwen Mallett 2 brothers Dwight Johnson and Rodney Eric Johnson and his Dear aunt Lena Grigsby and many Dear friends Dad If I could write a story It would be the greatest ever told Of a kind and loving father Who had a heart of Gold If I could write a million pages But still be unable to say, just how much I love and miss you every single day I'm going to miss our nightly phone conversations I will remember all you taught me I'm hurt but I wont be sad because you'll send me down the answers And you'll always be my dad I love you Dad and I truly will miss you Your Daughter Cynthia Eileen Hey Pops, Hey Son, I'm waiting to hear that again, enjoying talks about you walking with your friend. I'm going to miss you very much, walking through those doors would be so clutch.
