Clara Marie Chung

Clara Marie Chung, age 24, passed away on Saturday, Sept 28, 2019. Born October 31st, 1994 in Albuquerque, NM, the daughter of Jim Chung and Marianne Sakiestewa she was the oldest of four. She is survived by her brothers James (J.J.), Wesley and Danny Chung all of Albuquerque, NM and her only living grandparent, Robert Sakiestewa Jr. She came from a rich cultural heritage of Korean and Native American (Hopi & Lakota) decent. Her Korean name is "Umi-Beautiful Light" and her Lakota name is "Ta Oun Waste Win - Her Ways are Beautiful Woman". She graduated from Eldorado High School and received her Bachelor's in Business Administration in the Fall of 2018. Clara was also an accomplished artist, she excelled in school and loved animals, especially her dog Hannah and her puppies. She was always drawing and painting and loved movies, especially those made by the Japanese Animator, Hayao Miyazaki. Clara will always be remembered as a beautiful young talented woman who loved her brothers and family dearly. All services will be held at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel beginning with a Viewing on Sunday, October 6 from 6:00pm to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, October 7 from 9:00am to 11:00am. Clara will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery located at 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE following the service.
