Centerville, GA- Norman C. Monroe passed away at the Coliseum Hospital Thursday, October 10, 2013, from an extended illness. Services will be held Monday, October 14, 2013, at 10:00AM at Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville, GA. Rev. Andy Cook and Rev. Jim Curry will officiate. Memorials can be made to Houston County Humane Society, 810 Carl Vinson Pkwy, Centerville, GA, 31028. Mr. Monroe was born in Buffalo, NY on September 28, 1947. Mr. Monroe was a kind, loving man that loved his family, friends, and animals. He was a Security Enforcement Officer with Bibb County Public Works Road Dept. He was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Monroe was an active member of the GA HAM Radio Operators. Mr. Monroe was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Ginny Horton. Survivors include- wife, Peggy Monroe of Centerville; step-daughter, Sarah (Chuck) Wright of Warner Robins; step-son, Bill Magallano of Centerville; step- grandchildren, Payton Horton, Alexis and Harley Myrick all of Warner Robins. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
