Patricia Kathleen Holmes

Patricia Kathleen Holmes passed away on November 28, 2019 at the age of 63, in Albuquerque, NM. Trish, as many of her friends and family called her, lived a full life of wonder, adventure, and love. Trish loved riding motorcycles in her youth, flying in hot air balloons, fishing with her beloved, making beautiful art, finding rocks with her grandchildren, and helping others to succeed in their journeys toward higher education. She was inspiring to those who sought her advice; a shoulder to cry on for those who needed comfort; and a friend to anyone who needed companionship. As a young adult, Trish began making jewelry. She became a master jeweler and loved to create beautiful pieces to be enjoyed by many. Trish retired from Central New Mexico Community College where she helped the art instructors in the studios and in the gallery. She loved contributing meaningfully to the art department and seeing the students excel at their passion. She loved the outdoors, when she had young children, she would take them hiking, camping and fishing. As she aged, she still enjoyed fishing but preferred the comfort of her own bed at night. She loved going hot air ballooning with her brother, Mark, and the Viking Dragon Balloon Crew. Always feeding the crew, her green chili stew, burritos, and fun-loving attitude will be missed on the cold Balloon Fiesta mornings for years to come. She loved to share the beauty of nature with her family. When her daughters were young, the family would go on long walks in beautiful, serene areas. Trish would often be looking at the ground for rocks to collect. She always picked up a pretty rock to show to those she loved, a habit that passed on to her daughters and her grandchildren. It was not uncommon for her to give a beautiful rock to her daughters and grandchildren when she saw them. Trish has left behind a loving family, her loving life partner, Jim McLoughlin, and many friends. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Jessica Harlan, Jennifer Weber, and Joleana Parmentier-Lujan; her five grandchildren, Alexis, Edward, Liam, Alton and Cali-Anne; and the newest member of the family, her great-grandchild, Clover. She also leaves behind her brother, Mark Hofheins and his wife, Vanessa and their daughter, Autumn. She leaves behind decades-worth of friends, some so close they are part of the family. Trish will be remembered by all of her family and friends, both new and old. Trish played a large role in starting the Emerging Artist Scholarship and later, when her friend and CNM art instructor, Ernest Garcia passed away, the fund was named after him. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 5:30 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Casa Vieja Event Center, located at 4541 Corrales Rd, Corrales, NM, where friends and family can gather, enjoy each other's company, laugh together and fondly remember their friend and loved one, Patricia Kathleen Holmes. The family has entrusted Riverside Funeral Home with Trish's final journey on this beautiful earth.
