Steven E Gallegos
April 2nd, 1944 - December 1st, 2019
Steven E. Gallegos, age 75, joined our heavenly father on December 1, 2019 after a long battle with diabetes. He was born on April 2,1944 in Belen, New Mexico to Manuel and Beatrice Gallegos (Padilla). Steven was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daniel (Danny) Gallegos, nephews Orlando, Anthony, Randy and Ricky Gallegos, daughter Rocchina ( Casey) Gallegos, sister in law Margarette Gallegos, and brother in law James Koreny. Steven is survived by his wife of more than 20 years, Wendy Gallegos; siblings Bobby, Manuel & Ruth, Ernest & Juanita, Rosie & Eddie Gonzales, and Becky Koreny; children: Valerie & Ruben Maestas, Eugene ( Geno)& Mark, Matthew & Lorrie, Cody & Andrew, Nathan, and Cheyenne (Sky); stepchildren: Christina, Sherri, Ruben, Ray and Leann; Grandchildren: Amanda, Melissa, Elena, Diego, Santina, Matthew, Santiago, Eva, Donaciano, Joseph, Sophia and Kathalaya (Kitty); Step Grandchildren: Albert, Breanna, Allen, Destiny, Trinity, Emilio, Emma, Mariah, Angelique, Rey, Royce, Lanalea and Ruben. He is further survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many family members and friends. Steven grew up in Los Lunas New Mexico before relocating to Albuquerque as an adult. He was a hardworking man and remained active after his retirement from APS. Whether he was fixing cars, working around the house, tending to his garden or helping friends and family; he kept himself busy. Steven loved to fish, hunt, hike or simply spend time outdoors as he appreciated the beautiful New Mexico weather. He enjoyed drinking coffee, listening to Spanish music, singing with his siblings, watching his Broncos play or watching various TV shows while snacking on popcorn with his step grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He is missed deeply but will remain in our memories and in our hearts. We would like to extend a special thank you to Bear Canyon Hospice for their compassionate care and support. We'd also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Aunt Rosie who was nothing short of amazing; demonstrating strength, love and devotion in her daily visits and prayers with my Dad while he was on hospice. Steven will be cremated, and private services will be held with the family. Arrangements entrusted to: Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE (5050 764-9663
