Richard "Ricardo" Maldonado

Richard (Ricardo) Maldonado, 72, Of Albuquerque, New Mexico Beloved Father, Grandfather, Son, and Brother passed away in El Paso, Texas on December 14th, 2019. He was born May 10th, 1947 in Mountainair, NM to Helen and Gene Maldonado. Richard grew up in Colorado and later joined the Army then the Army Reserves. After Richard joined the reserves he got married and had three children, Felicia, Chris and Nichole. He was an Engineer at the VA Hospital for over 20 years and loved what he did. Richard loved playing sports and watching sports especially the Denver Broncos. He loved to fish and be outside with his kids. He was a jokester and was always trying to make people laugh. He loved making breakfast and dancing around the kitchen while he did it. Richard was a member of the American Legion for years and was very patriotic. Richard is survived by his Mother Helen, his children Felicia Maldonado, son Chris Maldonado, daughter Nichole Thomas, Grandchildren, Jared, Chris, Andrew, Cisco, Angelina, Alyssa and Emanuel and many other friends and family. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel, 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 4th, 2019 from 9-11am.
