Emma Salazar, from Taos, NM, age 89, was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.Emma was born on September 14, 1930 to Jose Eloy and Margarita Flores. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister - Epimenia Arguello and brothers - Andres, Silviano, Juan Andres, and Frutoso Flores.Emma is survived by her children, Stanley (Susan), James (Gloria), John (Linda), Marie, Kelly (Loriz), Margarita (David), Sharon (Alvin) and Connie (Andy), 18 grandchildren, Dominic, EmmaDonna Austin, Megan, Micayla, Camille, James II, Crystal, Tracy, Louanna, Del, Shana, Vanessa, Natasha, Mariah, Alexander, Melody, Susie, Jesus, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Emma loved to bake and was well known for her prune pies. She loved a good cup of tea, good conversation, was very creative and always had some form of project going. Also enjoyed reading, always keeping up with current events. Our mom was strong, courageous, hardworking, humble and had a good sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taos, NM on Saturday, January 18, 2020. A rosary will be recited at 9am with a mass following at 10am.Burial to follow at Sierra Vista cemetery in Taos.
