Irene Hansen

Irene Marie Hansen, 91 of Longmont, died Tues., February 25, 2014 at the TRU Community Care Hospice Center in Louisville. Irene was born May 26, 1922 in Dundee, IA to Henry and Mary Vierow. She attended a one room high school in Dundee and graduated in 1940. She married Iler Hansen in 1949 in Loveland. They moved to Fort Morgan where their daughter Ilene was born. They then moved to Greeley where she worked at Bonell Nursing home then moved back to Fort Morgan where their son, Allen was born. The family moved to Longmont in 1957. Irene was a Nurses Aid at Foothills Care Center (Peak Care Center) for 15 years. She was a member of the Silver Spruce Rebecca Lodge #16, Cantata Club and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. After moving to moving to Longmont, Irene provided home care nursing and babysat. She enjoyed embroidery and collecting Avon. Her highlight of the week was eating out at Jamies, Mike O’Shay’s and Double tree. Survivors: Daughter: Ilene Ryan, Longmont, CO and Son-in-law, Vern. Preceded in death by her husband; son: Allen Hansen; son-in-law, Don Ryan; 3 brothers: Alfred, Frank and Joe Vierow; and Sister, Clara Mason. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am Friday, February 28th, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1000 15th Ave., Longmont. A luncheon will follow immediately after the Service at the Church. Burial will be held at 2:00pm, following the luncheon, Foothills Garden of Memories, North 287 (past 66th), Longmont, CO. Service Information A service summary is not available
