James W. Beard

James W. Beard, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 24, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. He joins his parents, Jess and Marliette Beard, and sister Janet Beard. Jim was born on March 2,1947 in Albuquerque, NM and spent his youth in Farmington, NM. He followed his father's joy and talent with mechanicals, learned to fly, became a HVAC technician, and owned his own HVAC business. During the Vietnam war, he served in the Army for three years. He was stationed in Korea as a communication specialist. In 2012/13, Jim proudly served the military as a civilian in Afghanistan as a HVAC technician. He was an avid camper who also loved to help everyone. He was deeply committed to and in love with his wife. He also adored all of his grandchildren. He was a member of the Rio Rancho VFW Post 5890, as well as, the Benevolent Order of Elks in Rio Rancho. Jim is survived by Janet Beard, his wife for 30 years; his sister, Joanne Dennett; his 3 daughters Dawnette Shull, Theresa Beard, and Debbie Winkleman; his step children, Shawn and wife Tammye Quinn, Chantelle and husband Daniel Dawes, 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
