Ronny Lujan

Ronny Lujan, aged 73, of Espanola, NM passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Ronny was born in Espanola, New Mexico, to the late Manuel and Siria Lujan. He was a standout athlete at Espanola Valley High School where he graduated in 1965. After working and retiring from Safeway Groceries, he decided to return to school and obtain his Associates Degree in Accounting from Northern New Mexico Community College. Upon graduation, he found employment with the State of New Mexico, and would land up retiring from the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, Insurance Division, as the Deputy Superintendent. He would go on to retire from the State of New Mexico with his wife Olga and enjoyed spending time at home with close family and friends. Ronny always took the opportunity to share stories with his grandkids about his upbringing and favorite football memories. He was caring, selfless, affectionate, compassionate, and above all else wise beyond his years. Ronny Lujan is survived by his wife, Olga Lujan; his two children, Renee Tafoya (Michael) and Randy Lujan (Mona); his four granddaughters, Adrianna Bustos (Rosy), Jessica Gonzales (Lawrence), Reyna Lujan, and Iliana Lujan; his sister, Theresa Roybal (Jimmy); his brothers, Ruben Lujan (Patsy), and Rudy Lujan (Tina); brother-in-law, Jerry Salazar. He is further survived by many nephews, nieces, godchildren, other relatives, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Siria Lujan; and his sister, Catherine Salazar (Jerry). A Catholic Mass will be held at Holy Cross of Santa Cruz on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions all attendees must were a face covering.
