June 16th, 1933 - August 25th, 2020
Cruz A. Valerio, age 87, of Talpa, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Cruz is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosabel Valerio, his son Alex Valerio, parents Frank and Lucia Valerio, and in-laws, Onesimo and Manuelita Fernandez. Cruz is survived by his children, Richard Valerio (Louella), Yolanda Valerio (Clarence), Marvin Valerio, Darlene Lopez (Mike), Francella Vigil (Donald), Earl Valerio (Elaine), and Geri Valerio (David); any grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, extended family and friends. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, private services will be held. Pallbearers include Fernando Coca, Richard Valerio, Eriq Valerio, Joseph Vigil, Ryan Vigil, and Bryan Vigil. Honorary Pallbearer is James Pacheco. A viewing and recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:00 am at the San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, #60 St. Francis Plaza in Ranchos de Taos with interment to follow at 1:30 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with Army Honors.
