Charlie Lorenzo Martinez October 11, 1947- November 29, 2020 Charlie Lorenzo Martinez a resident of Chimayo, NM passed away peacefully on November 29, 2020 at the age of 73. He grew up with multiple siblings: LeeRoy (Marie), Isabell (Donald), Vivian (Ralph), Lucile (Joe), Shelia, Gerald (Batrice), Mark, Eufemia, Lupita (Leonard), Corpy, and Bert (Peggy) who he was blessed with by his father, Lorenzo Martinez, mother, Florida Pacheco, step mother, Jenny and step father Copertino. He is survived by his beautiful wife Gloria Martinez, daughter Tebols Casados, son Monick Martinez, daughter in law April, grandchildren: Jarrod, Makrinna, Anfernee, Aaliya, Shondalee, and Trinity; his best friend/ furry companion, Bean, his sister in laws: Frances, Vangie (Frank), Bertha (Cippie) and Annabelle (Danny) along with many other friends, relatives, and Godchildren whom he loved dearly. Charlie was preceded in death by Lorenzo Martinez, Florida Pacheco, Jenny and Copertino and several other relatives. Growing up, Charlie played football and basketball and later joined the New Mexico National Guard where he served and retired after 20 years. Charlie was self-employed running a video shop, upholstery shop and was capable of fixing anything. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in his shop. He shared his life with his wife Gloria, his mamason, of over fifty years planting and irrigating in the summer, decorating their entire property with Christmas lights for the holiday's in the winter, and raising a beautiful family simultaneously. He adored his many friends that would stop by and catch a Dallas Cowboys football game on Sundays while conversing over meals or a nice cold one. Charlie had a heart of gold and always helped those that came to him in need. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 6:30 PM at Zion Worship Center in Pojoaque, NM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, #10 State Road 76 Chimayo, NM. Covid guidlines will be followed and burial service will be held at a later date. Pallbearers are: Sammy Martinez, Flavio Martinez, Carlos Maestas, Rudy Romero, Frank Maestas, Eloy Vigil Honorary pallbearers: Godchildren: Clarence Diaz, Lawrence Martinez, Ernie Vigil, Tamara Valdez; all his grandchildren; nephew, Connor McCubbins; and close family friends: Dennis Martinez, Flavito Martinez, Cassy Trujillo, Benjie Vigil and Joe Vigil.
