Dustin "Dusty" Nichols
September 18th, 1979 - March 26th, 2021
On Friday, March 26th, Dustin "Dusty" Nichols passed away. Dusty was born on September 18th, 1979 in Durango, Colorado. He grew up in the Grants/Milan area with his parents, Mark and Beverley Nichols. In 2005 Dusty married his wife, Sandra Nichols and they moved to Albuquerque NM with their daughter Hope. Dusty worked many years at Lee Ranch Mine, Lowes and as a Truck Driver. Dusty was an avid boatsman, hunter and Bronco Fan, and foodie. Dusty was a proud member of the Elks Lodge, of which his brother, father and grandfather were members of. Dusty was known for his generosity and kind spirit. He had a big heart, and he was onery by nature. Dusty was preceded in death by his father, Mark, his brother, Joseph, his father-in-law Mark Johnson and his cousin Brent Janus. He is survived by his wife Sandy, his daughter Hope, his mother Beverley, as well as his siblings Michelle Gillman-Sam (Matt), April Lopez (Pete), Natalie Rowe (Shane) Fred Nichols, as well as Sandy's brother Billy Johnson (Melissa) and Jimmy Johnson (Wyndi). Dusty leaves behind many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and extended family members who he cared for deeply. Dusty was especially close to his mother-in-law, Patty Johnson. Dusty leaves behind his best friend of 26 years, Bruce Ruff who he considered a brother. The world lost a man who had many titles to many people, but most of all he was a friend to all who met him.
