Theresa Romero

Theresa Romero, 71, resident of La Mesilla, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021 in Santa Fe surrounded by her family via Zoom. She was born in Taos, NM on November 30, 1949 to Eduardo and Evila Ortega. She is preceded in death by her parents Eduardo and Evila, in laws Eduardo and Josefina Romero, and her children Josephine and Jason Romero. Theresa was survived by her husband of 52 years, Mario Romero. Children: Andy (Natalie), Arlene, and Matthew (Jeanette) Grandchildren: Amanda, Robert Jr., Alissa, Johnny Frank, Andrea, Christina, Desiree, Vanessa, and Analise Great-grandchildren: Bruce, Kayden, Kylie, Nathan, Jacob, Alex, Jasmine and Derick her only sister Rose Garcia and her family, Karen, Anthony, Melissa, Eric, Angelina, Josh, Damian, Daniel and John Michael, plus many more dear family members and friends. Theresa was known and loved by many. Everyone has that special memory of her and will forever cherish those memories. All who knew her, knew about her love for and faith in Jehovah God. With the many hobbies she enjoyed, she always made time to have bible studies with all who were interested and really missed being able to go out on service every chance she could. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Tacos, enchiladas, Spanish rice were a few of the family's favorites. She enjoyed trying new dessert recipes she found online and made sure to tell us about it for us to try. She had a great love for the outdoors, whether it was in the mountains camping or picking pinon, in her greenhouse or tending to her garden and yard full of beautiful flowers. Theresa loved all animals, especially the numerous pets she had over the years which included chickens, roosters, ducks, dogs, parakeets and the many hummingbirds that would visit her every year. On behalf of the Romero family, we would like to thank everyone for joining us today, for the countless phone calls, flowers, meals, visits, thoughts and prayers. They have been both comforting during this difficult time and a reminder of the impact that Theresa had on so many others.
