Juan A. Gutierrez

Juan A. Gutierrez, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico was taken to the Lord with his family by his side on April 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Angie Gutierrez, his parents, Saturnino Gutierrez and Francisca Gutierrez, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Juan is survived by his six children, Hope Lopez (Albert), Ida Pohl (Mark), Shirley Juarez (Paul), John Gutierrrez, James Gutierrrez (Monica) and Frances Olguin (Lawrence). He was a wonderful grandpa to 8 granddaughters, 7 grandsons, 6 great- granddaughters, and 6 great- grandsons. Also, his two sisters, Sally Tafoya and O'Caris Gutierrrez, brother, Damian Gutierrez (Cecilia), his sister-in-law Demecia Cordova, and his friend/caregiver, Maria Cruz. Juan was born is Bosque, New Mexico on May 16, 1935. Married on April 13, 1958 and moved to Barstow, California until 1979 when he returned to New Mexico. Juan loved his grandchildren more than anything, (gambling was a close second). He would always take the time to play with them, attend their events, and tease them. He was very proud of his family. He battled with many ailments, but fought to hold on until he was too tired and weak. He will be missed and forever loved. Rest in peace. A private ceremony will be held on April 24, 2021 at 9:00 AM at our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic community. The services will be live streamed at www.holyrosaryabq.org.
