Albert Lopez

On Thursday, November 18, 2021, Albert, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at 87. Albert was born on May 13, 1934 in San Antonio, NM to Juana Maria Chavez. In 1960, he joined the United States Army. He was proud to serve his country and was honorably discharged in 1962. Following his military service he was employed by the City of Albuquerque for 30 years. On December 15, 1962, he married Stella Duran. They raised three daughters, Cindy, Priscilla, and Janet. Albert was an active man and enjoyed going to the flea market every weekend. He had a passion for refinishing furniture, remodeling his home, and collecting models cars. He was also an avid music lover and collector of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. Albert was preceded in death by his son Albert Jr, his mother Juana Maria Chavez, and his brother, Emilio Chavez. He is survived by his wife, Stella, his brother Manuel, spouse, Helen, three children, Cindy, Priscilla, partner Sam and Janet, his grandchildren, Albert, spouse, Francisca, Andrew, partner Elizabeth, Stephanie, Dominic, Amanda, and Samantha, his great grandchildren, Ammerece, Alyssa, Cecilia, James, Esperanza, Juanito, Angel, Ezekiel, cousins, many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE, ABQ, NM from 1:00-3:00pm.
