Emilia Hernandez, 48, known as Milita to family and friends, passed away on December 16, 2021 surrounded by her family. Milita was born on February 18, 1973 in Portales, NM to the late Emilia P. Hernandez and Rodolfo “Fito” Hernandez. Milita was a lifelong resident of Portales and lived her life serving the elders in her community. She worked for the Community Service Center in Portales for 13 years. Milita was know for her caring heart, her honest advice and was a big influence on everyone around her. She was always there to give you a big hug especially when you needed it most. Milita's greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending weekends watching movies with her grandkids and making sure they knew how much their Mimi loved them. Milita will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her mother Emilia P. Hernandez and nephew Jośe Miguel Angel Hernandez. She is survived by her husband Jorge Zamora. She is also survived by her father Roldolfo “Fito” Hernandez and 5 daughters and 5 sons, Latoya Albert (Ismael) of Tulsa, OK, Brandon Albert (D’nisha) of Clovis, NM, Rebecca Garza (Josh), Claudia Rega (Anthony), Mercedes Albert (Jose), Teresa Hernandez (Irvin) all of Portales, NM, Jose Manuel Zamora Esquivel (Rosa), Alexis Zamora Esquivel (Adriana), Jorge Omar Zamora Esquivel, and Lorenzo Sebastian Zamora Esquivel, all of Torreon, Coahuila Mexico; her grandkids Zayden, Zabrina, Jessie Mae, Graciella, AJ, Dreyson, Mateo, Jose, Tomas, Emilia, Joshua, Nevayah, Carlos, Jorge, Elian, and Edrei . She is also survived by her 10 siblings, Juan Hernandez, Ramon Hernandez, Rosalinda Hernandez, Gabriel Hernandez, Delia Olivas, Celia Olivas, Angela Gonzalez (Mauro Noe) all of Portales NM, Maria Rojas (Jaime) of Ciudad Juarez, Manuel Olivas (Amanda) of Tecolotito, NM, and Genaro Olivas Jr. of Plainview, TX and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Roosevelt General Hospital and Lovelace Main Hospital for their care and support. Celebration of life will take place on February 18, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Helen Catholic Church in Portales, NM.
