Mabel Chavez

Mabel Chavez was born on July 17, 1938 and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 25, 2022. Mrs. Chavez was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Rosalie Espinosa and Vidal Espinosa Sr.; her brothers, Gilbert Espinosa and Vidal Espinosa Jr. (Mickey); son-in-law Richard Barela and grandsons Joshua Chavez, Jordan Chavez and Adrian Martinez. Mabel is survived by her husband of 64 years, Emilio Chavez. They were married on June 7, 1958, at the San Ignacio Catholic Church in Martineztown. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1957. Mable is also survived by her children Rosalie Barela and Randy Chavez and wife Patricia, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, and her sister Margaret Gonzales and husband John and her brother Edward Espinosa. Mrs. Chavez worked for many years at Presbyterian Hospital as a receptionist until her retirement. She then spent her time as a home maker and taking care of her many grandchildren. Rosary prayer services will be held on March 18, 2022, at 4:00pm at the Riverside Funeral Home on San Mateo NE, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
