Kathy Ann Kinsella. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 29th, 1959 to William and Olivia (Miera) Kinsella. Kathy Ann died unexpectedly at her home in Albuquerque on January 25, 2022. Kathy was a Ninth generation New Mexican on her mother’s side. She was a direct descendant of many famous New Mexican pioneer families such as, Spanish Captain Don Bernado Miera y Pacheco, famed cartographer of the Santa Fe Presidio, General Estanaslado Montoya ( New Mexico Civil War Militia), Juan Jose Baca, ( First Mayor of Socorro and a NM Territorial Senator( who helped establish the New Mexico School of Mines , UNM and NMCAMA(NMSU)), the Vicente Armijo family of Albuquerque and Guadalupe Luna family of Los Lunas including cousins Captain Maximillan Luna ( of “Rough Rider” fame) and Adelina Otero- Warren ( who has been selected to be on a 2022 US quarter). On her father’s side, she was a beautiful girl of Irish- German descent from the Bronx, New York. Kathy graduated from Most Holy Trinity Catholic School and was also a proud 1977 graduate of Yonkers High School (Bulldogs) in New York. While in New York she became a die-hard Yankee fan who named her cat after Bucky Dent. She loved Barbie Dolls, baseball, UNM Lobos, Isotopes, games like Trouble, cards, chess, movies, reading books, 70’s & 80’s music, soap operas, cooking and going to the NM State Fair and Country Music concerts. In 1984, Kathy returned home to Albuquerque with her parents and Bucky with whom she took care of until their passing. In 1994, she adopted a cocker spaniel named Ginger, who became her constant companion on her travels until Ginger’s passing. Kathy was modest in her lifestyle and big hearted in her giving to others. A devoted Catholic, who attended St. Bernadette Catholic Church for over thirty years, she always put her faith in action in helping anyone who needed a helping hand. Kathy always made time to listen to friends with sympathy or need of company. She had a fantastic memory in remembering birthdays and other special dates of the people she knew. Kathy never really seemed to realize how much she meant to her family and friends. There is now a big hole in the hearts of her family and friends being filled with grief in remembering her kindness and thoughtfulness to others due to her untimely passing. Family and Friends left to mourn her passing are her siblings, Margaret (Bob) Farrell of San Manuel , Arizona, Bill (Jeanne) Kinsella of Las Cruces, NM, Robert ( Maryann) Kinsella of Holtsville, New York, and her loving nieces and nephew, Jackie Farrell, Ashley Farrell, Jennifer (Ryan) McGrattan, Alexander Kinsella, Alena Kinsella and Anastasia Kinsella . Also feeling her loss is her Albuquerque Family of 34 years: Lisa Jourden, Debbie Edeal, Robert Martinez and their entire family, her Socorro Family, Max, Sue, James Torres and Chelsey Perez, all her friends and family from other states like New York, Arizona, California, Texas, Florida and co-workers from different jobs and at HME Health. Cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30pm Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at The Shrine of St. Bernadette. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at The Shrine of St. Bernadette. Following the funeral, Inurnment of cremains will be at 1:30pm at San Antonio Cemetery in San Antonio, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have masses of remembrance said for Kathy at the 3 Catholic Churches that played a role in her life: San Miguel Catholic Church (Baptism, Confirmation) in Socorro, N.M., Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1st Communion and Confession), Yonkers, New York and St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church (Funeral Mass and Rosary) in Albuquerque, N. M.
