Centerville, GA: Dorsey Mae Durden, 89, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Mrs. Durden was born in Washington County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Leila Mae Avant Cox. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Durden. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, J.C. Durden of Centerville, son and his wife, William “”Billy”” & Mary Lee Durden of Macon, daughter-in-law, Nancy Durden of Mullins, SC, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Hospice Care @ 1057 N. Houston Rd., Warner Robins, GA, 31093, in memory of Mrs. Durden. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
