Memorial

Family and friends, please celebrate the life of Louisa Haines who was born on February 4, 1910 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of George Klein and Katherine Wurster, and graced us with her awesome presence until November 28, 2012 when she packed her bags and went on to fulfill her hope and dream of meeting the Lord Jesus Christ in person. Louisa married Kenneth Haines in 1933 in Ossining, New York; he was the love of her life. Kenneth had a Son, David, who Louisa took as her own and was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Carol in 1936. Kenneth preceded Louisa in death in 1954, Louisa never remarried. For 102 years, Louisa blessed anyone who knew her. Growing up during the First World War, a young woman during the Great Depression, World War 2, and lived to see the promise that God would reunite his people in Israel, Louisa lived in very interesting times. But that was only the beginning of a long journey that brought her to Colorado in 1966. Louisa lived in Boulder for 43 years, 37 of which were at Golden West Manor, then moved to Firestone for the remainder of her life. An avid reader, walker, and cross-word puzzler , Louisa led a simple life devoted to God, her family, and friends. She loved to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune as well as classic films. Her passion was keeping things clean and organized, she loved to work hard, she had retired from the Boulder Community Hospital cleaning staff in 1992 after 25 years of service. Louisa was restless with retirement but enjoyed her time with her family and some leisure after many years of hard work. Louisa lived to enjoy life, help her daughter, Carol Horton, and provided love and support for her two grandsons, Billy and Scott. Louisa also had 4 other grandchildren who lived in California, she loved them very much, Chris and Jenny who survive Louisa and David Paul and Sue Ellen who preceded her in death. She imparted her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to her family and friends and was, to the end, never wavered in her faith; never ceasing in prayer for her family, friends, and country; and unashamed of her faith and commitment to the living God. Louisa is survived by her daughter, Carol Horton and her grandchildren, Bill Jr., Scott, Christopher, and Jenny. She was blessed with 14 great grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for the summer of 2013 where Louisa will be interned next to her husband, Kenneth, in Wappinger’s Falls, New York. Louisa wanted to ask that any memorial contributions be sent to the Golden West Foundation, 1055 Adams Circle, Boulder, CO 80303. If you have a story about Louisa to share, please forward it to Bill at [email protected] so we can share your experiences with the family! Service Information A service summary is not available
