Melcor "Mel" Valenzuela
July 13th, 1936 - June 24th, 2022
Melcor (Mel) Valenzuela, age 85 years old was called home on June 24, 2022. He was born to his parents Gregorio and Regina Valenzuela on July 13, 1936, in Magdalena, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by both parents, Daughter Mary Frances Chavez, Brothers Alberto Mora, Pedro, Gregorio Jr and Ray Valenzuela, Sisters Bernice Valenzuela, Eufrasia Torrez and Josie Chavez, and Grandson Michael Orlando Serna. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary R. Valenzuela; Daughters Vickie Nieto, Beth White and husband Alfred, Melinda Valenzuela, Son Albert Valenzuela; stepchildren Regina Jackson and husband Frank, Arthur Coca and wife Maria and Lola Coca; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Mel worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for 35 ½ years. Special thank you to Good Samaritan Society and Hospice Care, Janice, Jennifer, Cyndy, Nancy, April and Leslie. Services will be Wednesday, July 20,2022 at Legacy Church - East Campus, 4701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. 87109 at 10:00 AM. Reception to follow at same location
