Leroy Ortega, born on July 21, 1946 in Longmont, CO was 66 years old.He passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 6:33PM at his home from cancer.He joined the U.S. Army after completing high school in 1964. He retired from IBM with 30 years of service and most recently was working as a contracting manager at IBM through a third-party vendor.He married his high school sweetheart, Yolanda Mary Gonzales, August 31, 1968 in Longmont. He is survived by his daughters, Keri Lea Sandoval of Westminster, Colorado and Andrea Maria Rosendale of Englewood, Colorado, along with his two grandchildren, Brandon Michael Ortega and Vanessa Marie Arellano. He has 6 brothers and 4 sisters who all reside in Colorado along with many nieces, nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents David and Gertrude Ortega. A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16th at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, Colorado. Burial services will follow at the Foothills Memorial Gardens, North of Longmont.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield counties in memory of our beloved, Leroy Ortega.
