Joe Jerry Garcia
November 25th, 1943 - March 6th, 2023
On Monday, March 6, 2023 Joe Jerry Garcia, Loving Husband to Mary Garcia of 57 years and wonderful father to Chris Alex Garcia(Stella) and Gloria Anderson(Spencer) passed away at age 79. He was a wonderful Tata to Vanessa Chavez (Alex Chavez), Dorian Anderson and Lucas Anderson. Joe was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren, Areanna, Adrian and Carter. Viewing is from 9:30 am to 10 am on March 23rd, 2023 at San Antonio Church at 7 San Antonio Dr., Cedar Crest, NM 87008. Rosary is to follow at 10 am and Mass to follow at 11 am. Pallbearers are Spencer Anderson, Dorian Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Chris Anzures, Rodney Garcia, Bernie Padilla and Alex Chavez as honorary pallbearer. Celebration of Life to follow burial at Canon De Carnuel Land Grant 364 U.S. Rt. 66, Tijeras, NM 87059. You are welcome to wait at the Grant Hall if not attending the burial. Doors open at 12 noon. Joe was born 11/25/1943 to Vincente and Eocariz Garica in Tijeras. Joe was in the first graduating class of Manzano High in 1962. Joe could fix just about anything. He probably has fixed something for every person that is reading this. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He went to Barber School in El Paso. He got into construction and helped build the home he lives in and also helped build a plane. He was a Director of Maintenance and Safety for 21 years and retired in 2012. He loves music and back in the day would play his harmonica and accordion with family and friends. When he was passing he requested to listen to “I Want To Walk You Home” by Fat Domino. He loved hunting, camping and fishing. His son Alex and daughter Gloria love to go camping because of the trips they would take with their dad. Joe helped care for the family, his mother-in-law Petrita, sister-in-law Placida and brother-in-law Salomon and he cared for his wife Mary. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
