Abel Garcia, Jr.

Abel Garcia, Jr. was born on January 13, 1952, in Bakersfield, CA. He was born to Elbia Maria Garcia and Abel Garcia Sr. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at UNM Hospital after a long battle with kidney disease. Abel’s passion was football, basketball, motorcycles, working and his family. He was a father figure to his nieces. He loved teasing us all and he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a Tow Truck driver most of his career and he loved it. He’s known to his nieces as (Uncle Ugly). He had a great sense of humor; he was an amazing man! Abel was preceded in death by his mother, Elbia Espinosa Garcia; his father, Abel Garcia, Sr.; his brothers, Freddie Garcia Richard Garcia; and his sister, Charlotte Baca. He is survived by sisters, Emma Few and husband Johnny Few, Lorraine Garcia, and Cathy Morales and husband Stan; his brothers, Michael Garcia and wife Magdalena Garcia, and Johnny Garcia and wife Chayo Garcia; lots of nieces and nephews. He will be missed. Services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at San Jose Parish. Rosary will start at 10:30AM and Mass will follow at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at San Jose De Armijo Cemetery.
