Mack McCoy Henson, Sr., 91, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, 2021 11:00AM in the Mausoleum Chapel at Parkway Memorial Gardens. A Visitation is scheduled from 10:00AM until 11:00AM Wednesday in the Mausoleum, one hour before the service. Mr. Henson’s son, Mack Henson, Jr. will officiate. Mack was born July 7, 1930 in Frankville, Alabama to the late Jesse and Addie Henson. He served his country proudly in the United States Army as a Medic in the Korean War. Mack retired from Civil Service on Robins Air Force Base after 36 years. In his spare time, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Most of all, Mack enjoyed being with his family, especially in large gatherings. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by everyone who knew him. In addition to his parents, his wife, Sara Pippin, precedes him in death, along with two brothers and two sisters. Mack is survived by his children: Linda (Elwood) Janik, Mack M. Henson, Jr., Raymond (Kimberly) Henson, and Cheryl Sowers; grandchildren: Jason Janik, Staci Janik, Desirea Smith, Brenton Henson, Kristen Jensen, Bridgette Rodrigues, Brandon Sowers, Stephan Henson, Kory Hemphill, Hayden Henson, and Grant Henson; brother, Dempsey Henson; and eighteen great grandchildren.
