Steve Rogerio Gomez formerly from Questa and presently living in La Mesilla Española passed away May 16, 2022 courageously battling cancer. Steve was born August 2, 1952 to the late Rogerio Arturo Gomez who passed away September 2000 and his mother is Maria Berlinda Rael Gomez. Steve is also preceded in death by his grandparents; Feliciano Rael, Soraida Rael, Benjamin Gomez and Rufina Gomez. His little sister Susanna Josephine Gomez died September 16, 1959 and his niece Ramona Gonzalez died September 16, 2021. Some of his uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and other close relatives have passed. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his son, George Steven (Donna), his grandchildren: Alec and Dominic, his brothers and sisters; Felix Gomez (Linda), Nancy Gonzalez (Johnny), Frankie Gomez, Della Apodaca, Nina Apodaca Gomez (Ken), Charlene Ramos (Jose). On his wife’s side of the family Steve leaves George and Karen Gallegos. He also has thirteen grandchildren who loved him dearly. Steve was a very generous man and he would help anyone in need. Steve loved and cared for his surviving uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives and special friends. Steve, along with his loving wife enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling, but most of all Steve and Linda loved to ride his Harley with his cousin Willie Cordova and his wife Connie. Steve and Linda also enjoyed horseback riding and skiing. Steve was self-employed and loved working with his brother Felix and his nephew, Fernando moving mobile homes and helping escort with J.R. and Shelly. Steve was always ready to help and eager to do things, he was never lazy. Steve was educated in the construction industry where he was able to build a successful business for himself, working with his brother Felix and his nephew Fernando. Steve was always cracking jokes and having something funny to say, he had a great sense of humor. Steve had many hobbies such as working on RV’s and he enjoyed traveling to many places with Linda at his side. He enjoyed sport cars and as a teenager he had a rare 1968 Mustang Shelby GT 500 Fastback. Steve enjoyed visiting his son and family going to watch George Steven’s son play soccer. There will be a small family and friends gathering at a later date. The family has entrusted Riverside Funeral Home in Santa Fe.
