Russell Matthew Pacheco
November 24th, 1967 - December 2nd, 2022
Russell Pacheco, Ex San Miguel County Fire Chief, Chairman of theTecolote Land Grant, and life long resident of Tecolote New Mexico passed away surrounded by his family at St. Vincent Regional hospital on Friday December 2nd 2022 at the age of 55. Russell is survived by His parents: Leopoldo and Maryann Pacheco. His children: Leandra Pacheco, Amberlyn Pacheco, Russell Curtis Pacheco, Corey Pacheco (Elena Pacheco). Grand children: Lyla Pacheco, Curtis Pacheco (CJ), Wade Pacheco, Beau Pacheco, and Hailey Pacheco. Siblings: David Pacheco, Sarah Duran, And Gabriel Pacheco. Nieces and nephews: Julian Pacheco, Terresita Pacheco, Tyra Pacheco, Angelo Pacheco, Kyara Pacheco, Miranda Duran, Marina Duran, Maribella Duran. He is also survived by many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in laws, And His life partner Raven Ward and her children Darrel Nero and Devaiah Nero. Russell is preceeded in death by his Grand parents Josephine Garza, Geronimo Garza, Aurora Pacheco, and Delfinio Pacheco. Aunts Marcela Esquibel, Bobby Garza, and Jose Sena. Cousins Leonard Esquibel, Gene Esquibel, Paul Garza, Preston Garza, and Yolanda Lucero. Pallbearers: Antonio Pacheco, Micheal Nichols, Bill Phillips, Martin Ortega, John Ribera, Thomas Garza, Darrel Nero and Honorary Pallbearers: Corey Pacheco Russell C. Pacheco, CJ Pacheco, Wade Pacheco, Gabriel Pacheco, Julian Pacheco, David Pacheco, and Angelo Pacheco. Russell Was born in Las Vegas New Mexico on November 24, 1967. He graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1985. He met Mary Aragon and married on December 6, 1987 they had four beautiful children and later divorced. He Joined the Bernal Fire Department in 1992 and later established the Tecolote Fire Department in 1995. He went on to become fire chief of the Tecolote Fire Department and later the county fire chief. Russell also did Landscaping and escavating with his sons. Russell was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, uncle and brother. He enjoyed training horses, ranching, hunting ,fishing, firefighting and the outdoors. He loved his community and served it proudly in implimenting change. He was always willing and eager to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Rosary will be held on December 16th, 2022 at Our Lady of Sorrow's church in Las Vegas at 6:00 pm and funeral will be the following day, December 17th, 2022 at Our lady of Sorrow's at 9:30 am with the burial to follow in Tecolote.
