Bernie Montoya

Bernie Montoya,75 of Santa Fe,NM Born: April 1st 1947 in Espanola,NM Passed away: February 17,2023 of natural causes after years of enduring a long term illness. She work with the Espanola Schools and Las Cumbres for many years,as a Teacher Assistant for Special need kids/adults.She also drove the School Bus for 41 years. Bernie was very smart and talented.She was well known by many people.She was very kind,lovable and caring.She was loved by her family.She was also referred to as ( Dr.Ruth) when anyone needed any kind of advice,she always knew what to say to make you feel better. She had many hobbies:Diamond painting, Adult coloring books,Reading her papers The Sun,New Mexican,you name it,and taking care of her plants,watching her old shows,movies,doing her word puzzles. Going to the different casinos with her daughters and granddaughters to spend quality time with them.She was an Inspiration and Loved by many people. She is preceeded in death by: Phil Diaz (Father),Mary Diaz(Mother),Casey Montoya Jr.(Husband),Casey Montoya 3rd,(Son) Albert Diaz(Brother) and Kelly Archuleta ( Life long Companion).Also many Family members.Several pet ( Dogs) who were her babies. Bernie is survived by her two Loving Daughters: Mary Romero( Isaac) and Frances Roybal. Grandchildren: Tamara,ReAnn, Raquel(Peter),,Casey 4th and Isaac Jr. Greatgrand Children: Sheri,Marcos and Peter 3rd. Brother: Phil Diaz( Marian) Sister: Victoria (Corky) Arellano( Richard) Comadre: Mary Alice Molina Son-in-law: Jerome Royal She is also survived by many nieces, nephews,sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Also close people she referred to as her children: Iffy,Jennifer and Veronica. Life long friends: Vera,Francine,Mela and Landry. Along with many other close friends and family.And her beloved pets:Jeannie, Socks and Simba.
