Virgil H. Thomas entered into eternal rest September 2, 2022. He was 94 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Della Thomas, brothers, Donovan Thomas, Denzil Thomas and sister, Luella Kibbey; Daughter, Gaile Whipple Virgil was a retired civil servant for the United States Army. He also worked for Arinc, a government contractor for many years. In his youth he served as a pastor to a church. He and Sara thoroughly enjoyed traveling in their RV across the United States and even traveled to Europe multiple times. He was loyal to his country and took pride in expressing his concerns to his state Senators. His giving heart was also expressed in his desire to support local charities with monetary donations. He loved his family and made sure they were taken care of before himself. He is survived by his Wife, Sara Mae Haymons; Son, Steve Thomas of California; Granddaughters; Joy Taylor and Jennifer Gwen Thomas of Oregon; Grandsons, James Spangler, Brian Thomas; Great-grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Michael Thomas, Julia Marie Thomas; Great-great-grandchildren, Julia Rose Taylor, Sophia Renee Thomas, Soraya Jaylynn Thomas; Siblings; Lenora Lohman of Texas, Brother, Ken Thomas of Texas; Sister-in-law,Winifred Thomas. Virgil is also survived by a host of extended family members and countless friends. At the family’s request, all services will be private.
