Jesse Lee Jackson, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2023. Jesse was born on August 4, 1942, to the late Warren G. Jackson and Ada Ferguson Jackson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Jesse was a loyal and dedicated man who proudly served in the United States Army as a Crash and Rescue Sergeant. After the military, Jesse continued to serve his country and began his second long-standing career in public service, first as a Warner Robins firefighter, secondly as a Warner Robins police officer, and thirdly, a Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Jesse was also an entrepreneur. He owned and operated a small fleet of commercial trucks and a lawn care business. Jesse dedicated his life in service to his Lord and Savior as a lifetime member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. He cherished the Holy Scriptures and traditional hymns. As a young adult, Jesse played shortstop for the Warner Robins Jets. He was a sports fanatic who loved NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Most importantly, Jesse enjoyed spending time with his beloved family. Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Jackson; children: Sherrilyn D. Callaway of Conyers, Sylvia Coleman Smith of Macon, and Anthony (Erica) Jackson of Bonaire; brother, Alton Jackson of Atlanta; sister, Pauline Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Ryan Callaway of Stonecrest, Jalen Kirkland of Macon, Cross Jackson of Bonaire, and Creed Jackson of Bonaire, and a host of extended friends and family.
