Leave a tribute

John Baptist Connolly, Jr., 71, entered into eternal rest in the late evening hours of December 19, 2023. At the family's request all services will be private. John was born April 3, 1952 to the late John Baptist Connolly, Sr. and Cody Joan Thompson Connolly in Peekskill, New York. A veteran of the United States Air Force, John was proud of his country and his service. After his military service he became a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base. He enjoyed woodworking and the beauty of exotic wood. He could also be found on the shooting range target practicing or savoring the flavor of a good steak and a cold beer. He was a gentle soul, devoted husband and father. Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Mendoza Connolly and brother, Steve Connolly. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Jennifer Connolly and Jacqueline Connolly (Michael) Johnston; grandchildren: Adeline Johnston, Cody Connolly, Annabelle Johnston, Loraly Johnston, Clarabelle Johnston and Alexa Guerra; sister, Susan Connolly (Joe) McCarthy; brother, James (Tina) Connolly; sister in law, Paula B. Connolly; nieces and nephews: Katie, Joseph, Casey, Adam, Aaren, Andrew; close dear friend, William Hart; and a host of extended family and friends. Please sign the online guest registry book at www.heritagememorialfuneralhome.com and leave a personal condolence for the family. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory has the honor of being entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. John B. Connolly, Jr.
