James L. "Trey" Smith, III passed away suddenly Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was 51 years old. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 1 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Trey was born December 19, 1972 to James L. Smith, Jr. and Linda Addison Smith in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was an active guy; enjoying Georgia Bulldogs football, golfing, wrestling, playing Bingo, collecting coins and baseball cards, and watching movies; especially action and horror. He was a member of the Middle Georgia Bowling Association and could be found at the bowling alley quite often. He knew what dedication and determination was; starting his own lawn care business from the ground up. Trey was a proud father, Peepaw, son, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children: Keeley (John) Hoffmann and Austin Smith of Centerville; parents, James L. Smith, Jr. and Linda Smith of Centerville; grandson, John R. "Junior" Hoffman, Jr.; fiance, Angie Golden; siblings: Rhonda (Albert)Dozier of South Carolina, Chad Smith of Centerville, and Brandi Smith of Centerville; and a host of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly request donations go to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory to assist with the funeral bill.
