Calderon-Mercado, Connie Pilar, 80, born in New York, NY on March 7 1932 passed away February 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. on the day the world was saying, " I love you." Connie was surrounded by her loved ones and passed peacefully in her home. She was born in New York, New York, and moved to New Mexico in 1976. Connie was an avid animal lover, artist and indoor gardener. She loved old movies, classic fashion, electronics, art and jewelry but more than any of this, she loved God and most religions. Always understanding that eventually they all lead to the same source, which is love. Connie was a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal friend who was always optimistic, generous and had a ready smile that brightened the day. A good and kind person. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Juanita Mercado; and brothers, Luis and John. Connie is survived by her daughter, Mara Weber; grandchildren, Jessica Campbell and Jason Zern; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Raven Campbell and Aliyah and Chloe Zern. Her cremation ceremony is private and will be held Friday February 21, 2014. Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at her family home.
