Eva Marie Ager

Eva Marie (Lundgren) Ager was born April 26, 1934 to Einar and Ada (Baumdicker) Lundgren in Fairplay, Colorado. She passed June 4th in her home in Longmont, Colorado. Waiting to welcome her home are her parents Einar and Ada Lundgren, her loving husband Dale, Little Brother Johnnie, son Steve, grandsons Eric and Pete Ager, great-grandson Shawnie Crabb. Missing her greatly is her sister Helen Gaudreau of Denver, CO. Her children Ed Ager Jr. of Matheson, CO, Rose Marie (Rickey) Ager of Matheson, CO, John (Shelly) Ager of Jefferson City, MO, Pam Everett of Longmont, CO, Michelle (Scott) Denniston of Hahn’s Peak, CO. Along with 12 grandkids, 30 Great-Grandkids, and 8 great-great-grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews. She spent her early childhood on what was known as the Swede Boys Ranch in Summit County, and moved to Keystone for the start of her schooling. Then, she moved to Heeney for a year before moving to the Old town of Dillion. This is where she spent a lot of time horsing around with her sister Helen. It was in Dillion where she met and fell in love with Edward Dale Ager. They were married at his sister’s home in Aurora, Co. on January 26th, 1950. They settled in Aurora in a house he built and raised 6 wonderful, talented, adorable, kind, loving kids. Dale's job with IBM brought them to Longmont in 1969. They built a house in Horseshoe Park and moved there in 1972. They lived there happily until Dale’s death in 1984.She continued to live in the home they built together until her passing. During her marriage she worked at Longmont Lanes, enjoying all the bowlers she met. After Dale’s passing, she went to work for Safeway where she had many years of meeting new people and enjoying her job. She was well loved by a lot of employees and customers alike. We could not take her anywhere without meeting someone she knew. Even so far as back east. During her life she was an avid crocheter, creating beautiful pieces of handiwork including a Colorado Flag afghan of her own design entered into the fair. We still hang the crocheted snowflakes on the Christmas tree every year. She crocheted numerous afghans, doilies and animals. She also loved to go berry picking, and make jams and jellies. She passed on this love to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving caregiver to her husband for many years before his passing as well as caring for her father-in-law for a time. She shared taking care of her mother with her sister Helen for many years before her mother’s passing, So it comes as no surprise that her daughters would lovingly care for her with help from her sons. She deeply loved and adored her family and was deeply loved and adored by her family. She was a daughter of the mountains and never lost her love for them, passing that love down through the generations.
