Jerry Lee Mikels
July 22nd, 1945 - September 6th, 2023
Jerry Lee Mikels died on September 6th, 2023- in Longmont surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on July 22, 1945, in Centerville, IA to Marjorie McClurg Mikels and Clennon Mikels. In 1964 they moved the family to Longmont, CO for Jerry’s health. Jerry loved gardening, working on cars, tinkering in the garage, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In 1966 he married Marlene Walston on June 3rd at the Sweetheart Wedding Chapel in Loveland, CO, to this union, two children were born. Jerry retired in 1999 from Yellow Freight where he was a truck driver. He is survived by his wife Marlene and his son Keith (Sandy) Mikels of Ft. Collins and his daughter Trish Mikels of Longmont and 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his brother Roger Mikels of Miltonvale. KS and his sister Kathy Clark of Johnstown, CO. He is also survived by two Uncles Robert McClurg and Jack McClurg both in Iowa. Also, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Alice Walston of Windsor, CO, and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joan and Bud Logue of Pueblo West, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life will be held on September 18th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home. Luncheon to follow at 12:30 PM at 17th Avenue Place Event Center 478 17th Ave Longmont, CO.
