Ronnie Lamar Hancock

Ronnie Lamar Hancock, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2023. He was born in Lake City, Florida on August 11, 1943 to William Russell "Bill" and Eliza Hancock. Upon his graduation from Hialeah High School in 1961, he entered the moving and storage industry where he served for over forty years advancing through positions with May’s Allied, Bekins Moving and Storage and culminating with his ownership of his own Mayflower agency, Hancock Moving and Storage. Throughout his business career, he was known as tireless, selfless, and humble leader, mentor, and provider for dozens of employees and their families. A fierce competitor, athlete, and coach, he spent many years on the softball diamond playing for his local church and coaching his son’s football and baseball teams. An avid sports fan, he especially loved his Miami Hurricanes, Miami Heat and Ford NASCAR teams. But most of all, Ronnie was a devoted and loving husband of nearly sixty years, a tender father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who took no greater joy than his investment of time and care of his family. They were all his greatest source of pride and his constant source of happiness. His calm and abiding presence, his steadfast faith and Christian witness as the patriarch of our family will be forever missed. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; four brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Tom (Daire); grandsons, Justin, and Blake (Brianna); granddaughters, Brooke, and Lauren; brother, Russell (Carolyn); sister, Edith; sisters-in-law, Bettye (George), and Debbie (Dan); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
