Ronald M. Anderson
April 5th, 1935 - May 7th, 2023
Ronald M. Anderson, 88 years old, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died on May 7th at his home. He was born to Harry and Rowena (Knudson) Anderson in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, where he was raised on a farm. He graduated from high school in 1953. He enlisted in the Air Force, was commissioned in 1959, trained in and was an officer in Aerospace Munitions and Explosive Ordnance Disposal, retiring as a Major after twenty years of service. He owned his own business, then worked various other jobs, including Compassion International. He married “the prettiest girl on the dance floor who just had to dance with me”, Carol (Jensen). They were married in 1957 in Spokane, Washington, almost reaching their sixty-sixth anniversary. He loved many games—Bridge, card games, “Mr. Joker”, a bit competitive at each. He was an avid reader—books, the Bible and theological books. He enjoyed walking, golfing, Air Force Academy football, (recipients of many cinnamon rolls), basketball, and finishing the New York Times crosswords. He enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, and baking. He was known for his biscuits and gravy, pizzas, grilled meat, delicious wheat bread and cinnamon rolls. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Theodore, Donald, and Richard; and an infant sister, Rachel. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Rachel (Mike) Humes of Olathe, Kansas, Rhonda (Mike) Meyer of Seward, Nebraska, Zachary (Sandra) of Puerto Vallarta/Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rebecca (Kevin) Brumfiel of Divide, Colorado; also fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Ardell of Tracy, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews.
