Bonnie age 93 of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 21, 2023. She was born on August 13, 1930, in Oak Park, Ill, to Walter and Viola Textor. She grew up in the Chicago area where she attended the Methodist church and was confirmed as a young girl. Her family moved to Phoenix when she was a senior in high school, and she went to business school in California after high school. She met and married her first husband Wyman Bramhall in 1949 and had two sons-Gary Bramhall and Rick Bramhall. She met Bob Emory at a church dance and later married in 1963. They lived in Woodland Hills, CA until retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992 and later moved to Colorado Springs to be near their children and grandchildren. Bonnie worked as a medical transcriber for several doctors and later as a sales associate for Bullocks Wilshire where she worked part time for 15 years, while her children were in school, before retiring. Bonnie never met a stranger. She loved to talk, tell stories, and learn about people’s lives. She was always ready with a compliment or word of advice. Bonnie loved boating and water skiing and even water skied up until the time she was 70. She was very involved with the PTA, a bowling league (where she bowled a perfect game), and as a Blue Bird troop leader when her children were in elementary school. Bonnie loved to play cards, go for drives, and go to the movies. She and Bob enjoyed dancing and they frequented the Moose Lodge. Bonnie also loved to travel and was fortunate to visit most every state in the United States and several locations out of the country. She and Bob liked to go on cruises. Bonnie most loved spending time with her family and friends. She always looked forward to family celebrations big or small that she hosted at her home or attended. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and aunt. Bonnie will also be remembered for her sense of fashion always to be complete with a necklace, earrings, rings and or bracelet. She loved her “sweets” and soda or “pop” as she called it. She loved to have fun, was spunky, loved roller coasters, was a strong independent woman, loved to sing (although she couldn’t carry a tune) and was always up for an adventure. But most of all she loved her family. Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Emory; son, Gary Bramhall; and siblings, Joan Smith and Robert Textor. She is survived by her son, Rick Bramhall; daughter, Susan Sherrill; and husband, Paul; son, Jim Emory and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Christopher Bramhall, Megan Klaus and husband Ben, Summer Bramhall, Rob Emory, Ryan Emory, Heather Brandt and husband Dave; great-grandchildren, Theo, Arlo, and Florence Klaus; nieces, Pam Byman, Caryn Smith, Lise Textor; and nephews, Greg and Scott Smith and their families. Bonnie will be missed and never forgotten by her family and friends. We will remember all the wonderful memories, laughs, and good times we have all had together. A family Memorial/Remembrance time where we spread Bonnie and Bob’s ashes together, as per their wishes, will take place in March of 2024 at Lake Mead. God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put His arms around you And whispered “Come with Me” With tearful eyes we watched you Suffer and saw you fade away. Although we couldn’t bear to lose you We couldn’t ask you to stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands laid to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
