It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Victor Sabastian Castro. He was born in Lakewood, Colorado on the second day of January in 1979, to Patricia Justine Castro (maiden name Tracey) and Frank Castro Jr. Victor was the youngest of his siblings, and the only brother. He passed away at his home in Aurora, Colorado in March of 2024. He was 45 years old.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Frank, his sister Tonya, and his son Kauner. He is survived by his sisters Tracey Villalobos and Tina Threlkeld, his nephews Tito Villalobos, Luke Villalobos, Lorne Jr. Threlkeld, Charles Shadden, Lawrence Shadden, his nieces Sarae Villalobos, Rhiannon Threlkeld, and Cassie Shadden, as well as his cousins Sandy Tracey, and Kimberly Wasko.

Victor lived a life full of resilience and persistence. He made the most of what he was given, as many things did not come easily for him. Some things did come easily and effortlessly for Victor, including his love for cooking, all things comic books and Marvel, learning new trades and crafts, and his heartfelt and soulful love for the people in his life. Despite the difficulties he faced, he was intentional about the light that he shined into the world. He had an unparalleled work ethic in every job he ever held, and had countless talents to pass his time. He was loving, loyal, patient, kind, and determined. He was a man who took great care and joy in tending to his many plants, his countless fish, his sweet cats, and whichever hobby was striking his fancy.

Victor set himself down the straight and narrow path of sobriety in the last 3 years of his life, and had a strong sense of pride about this monumental accomplishment.

There will be a memorial service hosted by his sisters Tracey and Tina in the coming weeks, as well as a celebration of life being planned for July 13th (Victor’s sobriety birthday). Location and time TBD.
