James M. Bridge “Jim”, 88 of Seminole made his journey to the Lord on 26 December, 2023 surrounded by family at home. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Macomber High School then went to serve in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged a Korean War Veteran. He remained an active member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Over the course of his well lived life. Jim was proud to say he held over fifty job titles, eventually and proudly retiring from State Auto Insurance Company as a Claim Supervisor. In addition to his full time career. He was involved in many extracurricular activities notably past Commodore of the Ottawa River Yacht Club as well as Associated Yacht Clubs (1996). He was an official the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) spanning over fifty years. Jim embraced life to the absolute fullest. Whether he was instructing dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, hosting fishing trips on his boat on Lake Erie, golfing with Bob Brossia at Pebble Beach, he was never idle. Upon retiring to Madeira Beach, he continued to be active in church followed by communion. Affectionately known as The Mayor of Gulf Boulevard, Jim enjoyed spending time at the Bamboo with his wife, Lois, the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Bridge and Mildred Martin; son-in-law Mike Odorjynski. Jim was survived by Lois, his loving wife of 63 years; children Julie Odorzynski (Jim Yankovich); Jennie Whitecomb (Mitch); Mike Bridge (Tami), John Bridge (Jennifer); and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. A celebration of Life will be hel Friday 29 December 2023 from 1:00pm-5:00pm and services held on Saturday 30 December, 2023 at 12:00pm at Reese Funeral Home 6767 Seminole Blvd, Seminole, FL 33772. Donations can be made to the VFW Post 9272.
