Dawn M. Wilcox

Wilcox, Dawn Margaret, (The Cookie Lady), born in Ellison Bay, Door County, Wisconsin on March 31, 1933 and died May 16th, 2013. Dawn attended Gibraltar High School and graduated with honors. She then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked in various jobs. She met her husband, John Thomas Wilcox (Jack) in Milwaukee and they were married in Ellison Bay on March 17, 1957. Dawn and Jack worked and lived in Milwaukee until 1969 when they moved to Madeira Beach, Florida where they had purchased The Anchor Motel on the Gulf of Mexico. When The Anchor Motel was sold, Dawn, Jack and their son Tom made their home on Madeira Beach. Dawn attended church at Blessed Sacrament Church in Seminole where she acquired "The Cookie Lady" nickname. She would fill a 15 cubic foot freezer with 12 different types of cookies and 2 kinds of loaves of cakes. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her son, Tom; her brother, Glenn Sitte of Wisconsin; 2 sisters, Alice Kahler of Tuscon, Arizona and Karen Lundquist of Brookfield, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. Dawn was cremated at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
