VOGEL, Willis R. 88, Formerly of Delmar, passed peacefully in his sleep on February 22, 2011 at Woodside Hospice, Pinellas Park, FL. Mr. Vogel was born on December 23, 1922 in Delmar, NY. Willis was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School and Miami of Ohio University. He was a Ward War II US Army Veteran. He was an accountant and worked at General Electric in Schenectady, NY and V & O Press in Greenport, NY as comptroller. He was a perfect gentleman who always found the best in everyone. Will was a lifetime member of the Delmar Reformed Church and served as church treasurer, Elder, Deacon, as well as singing in the choir. He was a member of Cyprus Shrine Temple #4 in Albany, NY; Board of Trustees of the Shriner's Hospital in Boston, MA; Royal Order of Jesters - Albany court #77, Bethlehem Lodge #85 F.&A.M., American Legion Post #1040 of Delmar, NY and Largo, FL Elks Lodge #2159. He was predeceased by his first wife Eleanor H. Vogel; parents William R. and Irene W. Vogel; and sister Luella Voorhees. He is survived by his wife Muriel W. Vogel; son David (Cindy) Vogel; daughter Ellen Vogel; sisters Janet Vogel and Olive Dower; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held at a later date at Delmar Reformed Church with funeral in Memory's Garden. Details will follow.
