Florence "Flo" C. Plato

PLATO, Florence (Flo) 88, of South Pasadena passed, Friday, May 29, 2015. Florence was born in Orange, Connecticut in August 1926. Florence earned her Ph.D. from New York University and helped many college students in Connecticut where taught until she retired. She was a thoughtful and amazing wife, mother, volunteer and friend to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed travelling worldwide with her family. Florence volunteered for over ten years at Hospice at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital and always had a smile for the veterans no matter how woeful their situations. Florence always went the extra mile and had a sincere prayer for the patients. She is predeceased by her husband, James A. Plato and her brothers Benjamin, Constantine, Edward, Joseph Ciola and sister Julia Loman. She is survived by her beloved sister, Sophie Connor; son, James N. Plato; daughters, Karen Sauer and Susan Trevino; grandchildren, Benjamin Widhelm, Jason Plato, Joshua Plato and Jennifer Bett and nine great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a Mass to celebrate her life on Tuesday, June 30th, 10:00 am at Most Holy Name 0f Jesus Catholic Church, Gulfport, FL.
