Edward H. Stoj, 95, of Kenneth City, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Woodside Care Center of Suncoast Hospice. Ed was born on February 6, 1921 in Lackawanna, New York to Stanislaus and Anna Rak Stoj. He was one of seven brothers and four sisters. Ed served during World War II in the U. S. Army Signal Corps stationed in the Hawaiian Islands. After the war Ed returned to Hamburg, New York and worked as a Hall Bakery Company home delivery driver. In 1959 he moved his wife and three daughters to St. Petersburg and built a new home in Kenneth City where he lived for 57 years. Ed worked as an auto mechanic in St. Petersburg until his retirement. Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pauline Mae Stoj, and oldest daughter, Judith Ann Seward. He is survived by daughters, Janet Mae Candler and Joyce Elaine Wilson; sons-in-law, Fred Candler and David Reed; sister, Pauline Coggins; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Ed will be remembered by everyone whose life he touched with his warmth, generosity and humor. He was the family historian, able to recount stories of long ago and the names of many generations of relatives. Family was always the most important thing in his life. At his request, no local service will be held. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Collins Center, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida, 33760.
