Walter J Dembek

Walter J. Dembek, 73, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Lorain, OH, passed away at his home on Saturday morning, May 23, 2015. Born August 25, 1941 in Lorain, OH, Walt was a meat cutter by trade and worked himself up to store management, where he worked for several grocery store chains as store manager. It was as store manager that brought him to Florida, where he lived for over 27 years. Walt found a home when he moved to Rocky Creek Retirement Village. He made many friends over the years that will miss him during penny poker, bingo, on men’s council, and of course the General Store. He took great pride in bringing the store “back to life” from the years before he moved to Rocky Creek. Surviving is son, Joe (Michelle) of Plain City, OH; beloved grandchildren Connor, Brandon, and Rachel who loved him very much; daughter Jenny (Paul) Lah of Painesville, OH; and sister Alice (Dave) Bostater of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Walt is also survived by his best friends and caregivers, Mark and Sheryl Dunford of Tampa. You filled his final years with joy, made his life eventful, and kept him as comfortable as possible. We are all blessed that he had you in his life and there are no words to express our thanks. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Anna Dembek of Lorain, OH. The memorial service for Walt will be held during the 4:30pm Mass at the Rocky Creek Retirement Village Chapel on Saturday, May 30, 2015.
