James "Donny" Donald Thrift, Jr.

Mr. James “Donny” Donald Thrift, Jr. age 46 a resident of Winter Haven passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Lakeland Regional surrounded by family. Mr. Thrift was born August 3, 1975 in Winter Haven to James Donald and Edna (Acosta) Thrift, Sr. He was a lifetime Winter Haven resident, attended Winter Haven High School and was a Roofing Supervisor for WCM Construction & Roofing Company in Eagle Lake. Donny attended Heartland Church in Winter Haven with his wife. He enjoyed 4 wheeling, airboats, piddling in his garage and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his paternal & maternal grandparents and his parents. Donny is survived by his loving wife of 20 years – Tricia Grubbs-Thrift of Winter Haven; 2 daughters – Tyara Thrift of Lakeland and Blayze Poole of Winter Haven; son – Brantley Poole of Winter Haven; sister – Annette (Billy) Guy of Winter Haven; father-in-law & mother-in-law – Ricky & Linda Grubbs of Winter Haven; grandmother-in-law – Eulyn Grubbs of Winter Haven; sister-in-law – Kristell Grubbs of Bartow and many extended family. A celebration of Donny’s life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 4th at The Barn @ Azalea Oaks, 326 Gerber Dairy Road, Eagle Lake a gathering will be held before from 10-11 am at the The Barn.
