Donna Sue Clark

Ms. Donna Sue Clark, age 71 a resident of Lakeland passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Lakeland Regional surrounded by family. Mrs. Clark was born May 7, 1950 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia to Stephen Milton and Ruth Katherine (Wickline) Garten. She was a Polk County resident since the 1970’s coming from NC. Donna was a Cosmetologist and retired from Publix after 12 years. She enjoyed yard sales, traveling, making (soaps, lotions, candles), woodworking, quilting, crocheting and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and son – James. Donna is survived by her loving family, 2 daughters – Gretchen Anne (Matt) Buckner of Hot Springs, NC and Heather Leigh Starr of Valrico, Fl.; 2 brothers – Stephen M. (Sonja) Garten of W. Virginia and Grover A. (Kathy) Garten of OH.; sister – Rebecca G. Ellis of Auburndale; 7 grandchildren – Cameron, Kelsey, Cassandra, Kaitlyn, Amber, Emileigh & Jaydan and 9 gt. grandchildren – Cameron Jr., Madlyn, Aiden, Skye, Kallie, Wisdom, Noah, Alani & Carson. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 16th at Kersey Funeral Home.
