Deo Persaud
January 15th, 1940 - May 30th, 2020
It is with saddest regret that we announce the death of Deo (Mohan) Persaud, 80, of St. Petersburg, Florida, who passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020. He was born in Guyana, where he was a renowned businessman and very active member of the Lions Club. He later migrated to the United States with his family and became a successful real estate investor in New Jersey before retiring and relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida. His family and friends will always remember him as a remarkable person who was a respected role model for many in his communities and a caring and devoted family man. Deo is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kowsillia (Sylvia), three children Janet, Annette, Prem, son-in-law Amar, son’s fiancé Isabella, grandchildren Ryan and Kevin, sister Dropattie, and six other siblings. He is preceded in death by his loving grandson Gregory, eldest brother Deonarine, sister Satie, brother Harry, and three other siblings. The family of Deo Persaud wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and aides who helped him greatly while he was under their care. Thank you to family and friends for your kindness, laughter, good times, and support you have given Deo and our family over the years. Now, we are grateful for your sympathies and prayers to help us through this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you kindly donate to one of these charities in Deo’s name: American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation, or American Lung Association. Online viewing and cremation services will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. from Anderson-McQueen Tyrone Family Tribute Center (https://andersonmcqueen.com/). Funeral and prayer services will be officiated by Pandit Purnanan Sharma of Shri Saraswati Devi Mandir.
