September 28th, 1925 - August 5th, 2021
Eigher, Eunice nee’ Barfield, 95, of St. Petersburg passed away August 5, 2021 at Seminole Pavillian Rehabilitation Nursing Home. Born and raised in St. Petersburg she graduated from St. Petersburg High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Eloise Barfield; and her seven brothers and one sister, Gil, Fred (Fay), Carl (Margie), Ludlow, Walter, Clarence and Richard (Edith) Barfield and Marie McDevitt (Frank). For 46 years, Eunice was the smiling face and comforting presence in the Admitting Office at the VA Center at Bay Pines. She was the last remaining family member of her generation and had devoted her life to helping others. She took care of everyone else and often forgot to take care of herself. She was tolerant of all and never judged. She loved animals and flowers. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Donald W. Barfield (Anita), Rodney Barfield, Carl Barfield, Beverly Bitting (Mike), Susan Barfield, JoAnne Weaver (Robert), Sheila McDevitt, Steve Barfield (Kay), Kathy Doyle (Bill), John Barfield (Nancy) and Robert Barfield and several great nieces and nephews. Eunice’s memorial service will be Saturday, August 14, 10:30 am at the Tyrone Chapel of Anderson McQueen funeral home 7820 38th Avenue North St. Petersburg, FL 33710
